Argyle pond,Kowhai Campground and Wairau River.

I had a great day traveling along  some of  HWY  6. We  tried some new places and I GOT A LIFER!!!

 Argyle Pond

Argyle Pond is a hydro electricity pond at the side of the Branch River. The picnic area was closed so I did not get a good look at it. As we drove past it a Cirl Bunting(LIFER) flew up from the reeds.
We went further along to a little hydro pond that sits beside the Branch. Here I saw a Little Black Shag fly over and four Rock Pigeon sheltering on the concrete dam.

 Kowhai Campground

This is a picnic spot/campground in some trees alongside the Wairau. It was a pleasant spot to have lunch (and find a geocache!).
Here I saw a Royal Spoonbill flying through the river bed to our next stop: Wash Bridge river access.

Sorry, as I forgot to post this on time there is no writing for this part.
